Harrison Chamber of Commerce, Inc. & the Harrison Volunteer Ambulance Corp join forces to help aid the Haiti Disaster

Harrison Opens its Heart for Haiti Disaster Relief

Hosting American Red Cross ‘Blood Drive

The Harrison Chamber of Commerce, Inc. & the Harrison Volunteer Ambulance Corp are reacting to the Haiti Earthquake Disaster by hosting a ‘community minded’ Blood Drive that will benefit the American Red Cross who is sending steady blood supplies to Haiti.  Both organizations are inviting town residents to join them with their charitable efforts towards helping this devastated country.

Ada Angarano, President/CEO of the Harrison Chamber of Commerce, Inc. and Joe Bilotto, Chief of the Harrison Ambulance Corp have high hopes that Harrison residents whom donate blood with them will help replenish the dangerously low blood supply at the local American Red Cross Blood Bank.

Thomas Kane, Accounts Manager of Blood Donor Services, at the American Red Cross in White Plains said that type ‘O Negative’ blood is desperately needed but any type of blood donation made will be very much appreciated and will help replenish the low supply.  Blood supplies are still being shipped to Haitian men, women & children who were seriously injured during the past two devastating earthquakes that occurred in early January 2010 and much more ‘blood’ needs to be donated by American residents like us to help them survive.

By donating a single pint of blood to the American Red Cross you will be helping to replenish our regional blood bank supply and you will be helping to save a life, not only in Haiti but most likely here at home too.
